Atlee Kumar, widely recognized as one of the most eminent and affluent film directors in the Indian cinema industry, was born on September 21, 1986, in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India. He is 37 years old as of 2023. As a director, screenwriter and producer, he is renowned as Atlee. He ventured into the world of Tamil-language films, establishing himself as a prominent figure in the industry. In 2004, Atlee initiated a romantic relationship with actress Krishna Priya, and after a decade of courtship, the two tied the knot on November 9, 2014.

Early Career
Embarking on his career as an assistant director, Atlee Kumar collaborated with director S. Shankar in the creation of “Enthiran” (2010) and continued their partnership in “Nanban” (2012), a remake of the Hindi film “3 Idiots.” In 2013, Atlee made his directorial debut with “Raja Rani,” a romantic comedy featuring Arya, Jai, Nayanthara, Nazriya Nazim, and Sathyaraj. This film, produced by Fox Star Studios and AR Murugadoss, not only earned over 500 million at the South Indian box office within four weeks but also garnered Atlee the prestigious Vijay Award for Best Debut Director.
Sucess as a director
Atlee’s subsequent directorial project, “Theri,” emerged as the second-highest-grossing Tamil film of 2016, marking his inaugural collaboration with actor Vijay. His directorial prowess continued with subsequent hits like “Mersal” (2017) and “Bigil” (2019), both featuring actor Vijay. In 2023, Atlee Kumar extended his directorial expertise to Bollywood, collaborating with Shahrukh Khan on the highly acclaimed film “Jawan“.
