“Dhokha: Round D Corner” unfolds as a crime thriller with a peculiar mix of a cat-and-mouse chase and puzzle-solving. The narrative centers around Saanchi Sinha, a woman diagnosed with a personality disorder, who becomes the hostage of a determined terrorist with undisclosed motives.

The film kicks off with a montage depicting the seemingly happy marriage of Yathaarth and Saanchi. However, their relationship begins to crumble due to Yathaarth’s workaholic nature and controlling tendencies. Saanchi, frustrated with the lack of appreciation, demands a divorce. Simultaneously, a terrorist named Haq Gul takes Saanchi hostage in her apartment, setting the stage for a tense hostage situation.

As the story unfolds, ACP Harish Malik handles the operation to resolve the hostage crisis. Conflicting narratives emerge about Haq Gul’s intentions, with Yathaarth suspecting that the hostage is Saanchi. The plot thickens as Haq Gul’s demands escalate, leading Yathaarth to negotiate for Saanchi’s release.
The climax reveals a series of shocking truths. Saanchi, it turns out, manipulates Haq Gul by convincing him of an affair between Yathaarth and her psychiatrist, Vidya. Saanchi’s plan involves using Haq Gul to escape her situation and expose Yathaarth’s true intentions. However, the plan backfires when Haq Gul, realizing Saanchi’s deceit, maintains control over her.
Yathaarth, in his attempt to rescue Saanchi, unveils a dark reality. He, along with Vidya, intentionally worsened Saanchi’s mental health to gain control over her assets. Yathaarth shoots Saanchi multiple times during the confrontation with Haq Gul, revealing his greed and deceit.
Simultaneously, ACP Malik’s involvement is exposed. He had an affair with Saanchi, and to avoid repercussions, he conspires with Haq Gul to kill her. In the end, Haq Gul’s innocence is revealed, as both Yathaarth and ACP Malik had ulterior motives for eliminating Saanchi.
The film concludes with the tragic fate of Saanchi, manipulated by the selfish intentions of the men in her life. Yathaarth’s greed and ACP Malik’s fear of exposure lead to Saanchi’s demise, portraying a dark and twisted game played at her expense.
In summary, “Dhokha: Round D Corner” is critiqued for its lack of essential elements such as a coherent screenplay, effective editing, and compelling storytelling. The film’s over-the-top dialogue delivery, sloppy screenplay, and subpar performances contribute to its unfavorable reception. Despite attempts at suspenseful twists, the movie falls short of delivering the engaging experience it aimed for, lacking the necessary masala and quality associated with successful crime thrillers.
