In a recent interview , Yami Gautam opened up about her emotions while shooting in Kashmir for “Article 370.” Reflecting on her experience, Gautam shared, “As an actor, it was a whirlwind of emotions. While I come from Himachal and have a different perspective, working closely with Aditya, a Kashmiri Pandit, and hearing firsthand accounts from his family and relatives, evoked a myriad of feelings within me.”

Delving deeper into her experience, Gautam revealed, “Shooting in Kashmir was significant for us, as we were the first film crew permitted to shoot in downtown Kashmir in years. However, amidst the picturesque landscapes, there were poignant reminders of the region’s turbulent past. Seeing remnants of burnt houses and hearing stories of the locals added a layer of complexity to our filming experience.”

Despite the challenges, Gautam expressed optimism about the positive changes she witnessed in Kashmir. “Life progresses, urging us to concentrate on the here and now as well as what lies ahead. Witnessing the progress and seeing the Indian flag flying high in Kashmir filled me with hope and pride. While shooting for ‘Article 370,’ I interacted with locals who echoed similar sentiments, indicating a brighter future for the region,” she remarked.
