Toofan is a 1989 Indian Hindi-language superhero film directed by Ketan Desai, featuring Amitabh Bachchan in a double role as the titular character and a magician. The film was delayed due to production issues and reshoots after the 1988 film Gangaa Jamunaa Saraswati. Released on 11 August 1989, it received mixed reviews and had a strong box office opening. However, it crashed in the second week due to the release of Elaan-E-Jung, starring Dharmendra. Eventually, Toofan became an average grosser and the 12th highest-grossing film of 1989.
