Philia is the extreme form of liking, likeness, arousal, or love towards something. The strong emotional pull could even turn into an excessive or obsessive need to obtain a certain item or event. Such behaviours could be repetitive or habit-forming to the point that the person’s affection for something may seem senseless, pointless, or wasteful to society, but to them, it may provide them immense joy.

Philia could have a brief or lengthy life.
