Hemalatha’s adventure to develop Ampere Electric began in 2007, when she received a call from her husband in Japan. Recognising India’s need for an electric mobility revolution, the company, which was valued at $16.28 million in 2018, produces electric cycles, scooters, and three-wheelers. Hemalatha, a trailblazer among female entrepreneurs, not only improves clean mobility in rural India, but also empowers women with Ampere Electric’s women-centric Trisul three-wheel vehicle designed specifically for Tamil Nadu mill workers.
8. Indra Nooyi – The Founder & CEO, PepsiCo
