Aditya Roy Kapur happens to be an Indian actor who performs in Hindi cinema. He launched his acting debut with the musical drama London Dreams (2009) after serving as a VJ. Kapur found his initial commercial success through the romance Aashiqui 2 (2013). Within the identical year, the romantic comedy Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani became his highest-grossing release and secured him the IIFA Award for Best Supporting Actor alongside a nomination for the Filmfare Award in the same category.

During Class XI, Aditya Roy Kapur joined St. Xavier’s but could not manage to pass. Not to face the same class the next year, he was compelled to seek enrollment at St. Andrew’s College. And later, he managed to get graduation from St. Xavier’s College, which is affiliated with the University of Mumbai. He desired to be a cricketer in his school life as well, but he left cricket coaching after standard six.

Career:

- Kapur began as a VJ on the music channel Channel V India, where his comedic timing and “distinct hosting style” were appreciated. He appeared in a show named Pakao and hosted the popular show India’s Hottest with VJ Bruna Abdullah until 2008.
- Kapur made his acting debut in a supporting role in the musical drama London Dreams (2009) starring Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Asin Thottumkal in lead roles. The movie received mixed reviews from critics upon its release and turned out to be a below-average performer at the box office.

- In 2010, he appeared in the Akshay Kumar-Aishwarya Rai-starrer science-fiction romantic comedy Action Replayy and the Hrithik Roshan-Rai-starrer drama Guzaarish. Despite these films not doing well at the box office, Kapur gained some recognition among the audience.
- Kapur’s breakthrough came alongside Shraddha Kapoor with the musical romance Aashiqui 2 (2013). Premiering on 26 April 2013, Aashiqui 2 became a commercial success at the box office and ranked among the highest-grossing Bollywood films of 2013, earning ₹1.45 billion (US$18 million) worldwide in just four weeks.

- Kapur portrayed Avinash Arora in the romantic comedy Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, which not only became one of the highest-grossing Indian films but also the most successful film of his career.
- In 2014, he played Tariq Haider in the romantic comedy Daawat-e-Ishq opposite Parineeti Chopra. The film was financially unsuccessful and received average reviews from critics.
- In 2016, Kapur starred as Noor Nizami in the romantic drama Fitoor alongside Tabu and Katrina Kaif, based on Charles Dickens’ 1861 novel Great Expectations.
- He played Aditya Gunjal in the 2017 romantic drama Ok Jaanu, opposite Shraddha Kapoor. His 2019 film was the romantic drama Kalank with Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, and Sonakshi Sinha as Dev Chaudhry. The film failed at the box office and also received mixed reviews.
- Kapur had three releases in 2020. First, he starred as Advait Thakur in the romantic action thriller Malang alongside Disha Patani, where his performance received positive reviews from critics.
He later starred as Vishal Agnihotri in the road film Sadak 2 alongside Sanjay Dutt and Alia Bhatt, which was released on the streaming platform Disney+ Hotstar.
