Ajay Devgn’s upcoming film De De Pyaar De 2 has been generating a lot of interest, with recent reports indicating that much of the movie will be filmed in the rustic and scenic regions of Punjab. The film, which sees Ajay Devgn, Luv Ranjan, and Bhushan Kumar reuniting, continues the story from where the first installment left off, focusing on the comedic interactions within Rakul Preet Singh’s character’s family.
According to a source quoted by ETimes, the production is gearing up for a 45-50 day shoot in Punjab. While R. Madhavan, Rakul Preet Singh, and the rest of the cast are set to begin filming next month, Ajay Devgn will join after wrapping up Son of Sardar 2 in the UK.
It’s also been reported that Anil Kapoor will play a significant role in De De Pyaar De 2. Luv Ranjan and his team were eager to have Kapoor on board, and he was reportedly very interested in the concept, quickly agreeing to participate. The sequel is expected to bring even more humor, particularly through the interactions between Ajay Devgn and Anil Kapoor’s characters.
The sequel will follow Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh’s characters as they continue to navigate comedic challenges involving Rakul’s family. The anticipated interactions between Anil Kapoor and Ajay Devgn’s characters are expected to add a fresh dynamic to the storyline.
De De Pyaar De 2 is being written by Luv Ranjan and Tarun Jain and directed by Anushul Sharma. The film is one of the most highly anticipated releases for 2025. The first film, which came out in 2019, was a hit and included Tabu and Jimmy Shergill in key roles. In the sequel, Ajay Devgn’s character will meet Rakul Preet Singh’s family, with R. Madhavan portraying her father. This setting will create a humorous rivalry between the two men, who are of a similar age. This project marks the second collaboration between Ajay Devgn and R. Madhavan following their previous work together in Shaitaan.
