The film opened with Rs 2.50 crore and earned Rs 9.75 crore net in its first weekend. Ultimately, it closed its Indian box office run at a strong Rs 41.75 crore net (Rs 60.50 crore gross), earning a Super-Hit status.
In addition to its impressive domestic performance, Veer Zaara achieved notable success internationally, grossing approximately USD 8.2 million from overseas markets and bringing its lifetime worldwide box office total to Rs 98 crore gross. During its initial release, the film saw an estimated 1.3 crore footfalls, a remarkable achievement that remains an aspirational benchmark.
