Samantha Ruth Prabhu seems unstoppable, especially considering the hit action series Citadel: Honey Bunny, and there is even an old ad resurfaced that has gone viral on the internet.
In the viral ad clip, she can be seen in a hyper, active and expressive mode that includes a fair bit of dancing. Wearing an ordinary yellow pink outfit almost made her look like a different person and shocked her fans with the extent of her makeover.
Netizens had mixed reactions to the video. Some were stunned by her changed appearance, with comments like, “I totally didn’t recognise her,” and, “She looks more like Rashmika than Samantha.” Another wrote, “Samantha who? The one in the new Citadel series? Tell me I’m wrong because I don’t see a trace of Samantha here.” However, positive remarks also poured in, with fans defending her transformation. One said, “She was beautiful then, she’s beautiful now,” while another added, “She’s always been gorgeous, with or without changes. Accept it and move on.”
The advertisement appears to have been shot before Samantha’s debut in Telugu cinema with the film Ye Maaye Chesave.

On the professional front, Samantha recently starred alongside Varun Dhawan in Citadel: Honey Bunny, an action thriller series that has garnered positive reviews. The ETimes gave it a rating of 3 out of 5, praising its slick action choreography. The review highlighted the series as a prequel to Citadel (2023) and Citadel: Diana (2024), exploring the origins of the secretive spy syndicate and the character of Nadia (played by Priyanka Chopra Jonas in the original series).
The show created by Raj & DK shows Bunny (Varun Dhawan) who is a stuntman and Honey (Samantha), a struggling actress, gets embroiled in espionage, breaking of rules, and switching of tracks during a mission. Though the movement parts are action-packed making the pacing interesting, certain sections of the story are not stimulating enough to keep one’s interest evoked throughout. Nonetheless, emotional and out of the blue moments like the one when Honey interacts with her sick dad and the hiliographer gets exposed give the plot some depth and excitement.
