Bollywood actress Ananya Panday has opened up about the downright “struggles” she faced in the Bollywood industry, which turned into a meme fest on social media. She made her debut with Student of the Year 2 in 2019 and once before had made her take on the difficulties in the industry on the Rajiv Masand talk show. Her statement went viral and attracted criticism, especially from Siddhant Chaturvedi of Gully Boy fame, who played MC Sher.

In response to these statements, Siddhant had said during a discussion that, “Everyone has their own struggle. But the difference is that where our dreams get fulfilled, that’s where their struggle starts.” This was perceived as a subtle dig at Ananya, with interpretations that for some, the fight has not begun yet, while others have already had their dreams come true.

Ananya finally came out with her clarification on the topic in an episode of the Janice Sequeira show whereby she said that she agreed with the view of Siddhant. She acknowledged that they were essentially saying the same thing, essentially insinuating that perhaps the crux of her argument was lost in her language. Reflecting on the matter, she would say: “If I could go back, I would probably change the way in which I expressed myself.”
