The Indian cricket team arrived in Australia for the awaited Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 scheduled to begin on 22nd November. Team skipper Rohit Sharma, who recently welcomed his baby boy, is likely to report ahead of the first test. Mohammed Shami, who has started going back on the field with the advent of the Ranji Trophy 2024, will travel to Australia alongside Rohit.
According to Dainik Bhaskar, Rohit Sharma will travel to Australia a day prior to the first Test, where he will be joined by Shami. Shami is most probably going to be included in the Indian team for the second Test of the series.
Shami shines in Ranji Trophy
Mohammed Shami made a great comeback to competitive cricket after a one-year break, and he started this with an outing for Bengal in their Ranji Trophy 2024 clash against Madhya Pradesh. The ace fast bowler again showed hallmark skill and precision, breaking the batting line-up of Madhya Pradesh, which claimed four wickets in the first innings. The scalps included key players like Shubham Sharma, Saransh Jain, Kumar Karthikeya, and Kulwant Kejroliya, and he ended with impressive figures of 4/54 in 19 overs.

In the second innings, Shami continued with his good bowling and took three more wickets. He even batted and scored a rapid 37 off 36 balls, which contained two boundaries and two towering sixes. It was an all-round performance for him, marking his preparedness for the forthcoming Test series.
Border-Gavaskar Trophy Schedule
The Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 promises an exciting five-match Test series when India clash with Australia. The first Test would be in Perth from 22nd to 26th of November. A Day/Night game is what is lined up for the second Test in the Adelaide Oval during 6th to 10th December. Then it will be in Gabba in Brisbane during 14th to 18th of December. Now it is Melbourne Cricket Ground to be seen to for the fourth Test, again on a duration of 26th to 30th December.The final will take place at the Sydney Cricket Ground from January 3 to 7, 2025.
