De Kock was playing for the cricket of King Edward VII School at Johannesburg where his potential is squeezed. A struggling school cricket player secured him a place in the Gauteng team and took him for first-class cricketing debut in the year 2009. Soon after this early promise converted into a giant performer in the domestic circuit.

Quinton de Kock first scored his One Day International career when he played for South Africa against New Zealand on 19 January, 2013. De Kock, however, made his Test appearance a bit later on February 20, 2014 against Australia. During the ODI career of the player, one of the aggressive batsmen with doing fine work as a wicket-keeper too, which became his prominent trait to get place in the national squad for all forms of the game.
