Early Life

Mokksha Sengupta was born Pritha Sengupta in Barrackpore, Kolkata, West Bengal, India. She schooled at the Douglas Memorial Higher Secondary School and did a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (Honors) at the University of Calcutta. She took lessons in the traditional dance systems Bharatanatyam, Kathak, and Odissi besides her school life. Previously, she served as a choreographer and a teacher at the St. Augustine’s Day School at Barrackpore.

Acting Career

Mokksha started her acting career in the Bengali film industry with supporting roles. Her first lead role was in the film “Karma” in the year 2020. She ventured into South Indian cinema, making her debut in Tamil with “Yevaal” in the year 2022 and in Telugu with “Lucky Lakshman” in the year 2022. In the year 2023, she made her Malayalam debut with the film “Kallanum Bhagavathiyum” as the character Bhagavathy. Her performances received positive attention throughout these industries.
