Born on June 4, 1992, in Howrah, West Bengal, India, Sriparna Roy is a well-known actress in the Bengali television and film industry.

Early Life and Education

Hailing from Howrah, Sriparna had a very early inclination toward performing arts. She would actively take part in school functions, being the anchor or performer in local events, while also having been an early exponent of her craft. It was these early beginnings on stage that truly whetted her appetite for acting and paved the way forward for her career. After completing schooling, she pursued higher studies at Maharaja Manindra Chandra College in Kolkata, from where she passed out.

Television Career

Sriparna’s journey to becoming a professional actress began in 2012 with the serial ‘Aanchol,’ which was aired on Star Jalsha. The character of Tushu was played by her, for her power-packed performance, she was awarded the Star Jalsha Parivaar Award in the same year.

After making her debut, Sriparna continued to act in several serials on television, doing several roles in the following:

  • “Aaj Aari Kaal Bhaab” (2015).: This was a drama show that revealed yet another aspect of the versatility of this actress.
  • “Om Namah Shivay” (2018): A mythological series telecast on Star Jalsha, in which Sriparna played the lead role of Goddess Parvati alongside Gaurav Mondal, thus displaying to what extent she could go while tackling intricate roles.
  • “Netaji” (2019): A historical drama, where her major involvement is found, though specifics of her role are scant.
  • “Kori Khela” (2021): A drama series aired on Zee Bangla, where Sriparna played the role of Paromita Ganguly, an independent single mother.
  • “Mukut” (2023): It would definitely add to her horizons which are ever-widening.
  • “Gatchora” (2023): Here, Sriparna plays the character of Rukmini, by which time she has already made a good foothold in the Bengali television industry with her phenomenal acting.

  • “Nimki Phulki”: Debut feature film of Sriparna. SThe storyis about two sisters who face trials in life.
  • “Kidnap” (2019): This crime drama showed the versatility of her performance in different genres and forms of narrative.

Personal Life

Her marriage to Subhadip Bhattacharjya thus ushered in a new chapter for Sriparna tin he month of November 2023. An animal lover, she has a pet dog and a cat, and she posts snippets of her affection for them on social media. Travelling is also a passion for Sriparna, who loves to explore cities and cultures whenever her schedule permits.
