Born on 19th August 1974 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, Purbi Joshi belongs to a family well-rooted in the performing arts profession. Purbi was born to great actress Sarita Joshi and theatre director mastermind Pravin Joshi. With such a background in the family, of course, it was only expected that Purbi would have a leaning towards the performing arts profession, with early training in performance and acting provided by her mother.

Career Path

Purbi commenced as a model with an appearance in a handful of ads and commercials. Purbi began career in acting by coming onto screen through TV serial Faasle during 1995. Purbi was established to the likes owing to comedy programmes, anchoring, and working in Comedy Circus, whose sense for the time involved for pun and its sensitivity to humor were absolutely praiseworthy.
