Born on 14th August 1991 in Karnal, Haryana, Major Gaurav Chaudhary is of Hindu descent. He studied in Kendriya Vidyalaya for his schooling and further military studies in the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Pune and later the Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun. It was evident from his participation in sports and extracurricular activities while studying in school that he had an early dream of serving in the Indian Army.
