A top actress, who changed the landscape for female actresses with her award winning performance is quite upset with one of the filmmakers who offered her a role in a male-led project on an OTT platform. Looking at the actress’s filmography, she had always ensured her spotlight single-handedly both in theatres and on OTT and is not willing to compromise on her choices.
Time and again, she has voiced against the patriarchy existing in the industry. The actress has turned down the OTT offer since she felt that post pandemic, the medium has become even more male dominant. Although her last few projects might not have done wonders except for one of them, she still firmly believes in her capability as an actress. This actress was also in news for doing a biopic on a famous Indian leader but after a contemporary attempted a film on the same subject, she turned down the project immediately.
The actress has some strange connections with the biopics. In 2016, it was reported that she would be playing a role of a Malayalam writer, who converted to Islam alongside a Malayalam superstar but the project was shelved. She was even offered a biopic of a yesteryear’s actress which later went on to a young actress.Â
