Then there is Lapataganj Next, the sequel of the successful Indian TV show Lapataganj: Sharad Joshi Ki Kahaniyon Ka Pata, which was aired on SAB TV. It was a sequel series of 310 episodes and was running from June 10, 2013, till August 15, 2014.

Premise of the Story
It owes a debt to the satirical work of Sharad Joshi and is set in the imaginary, isolated, and tiny village of Lapataganj (“a lost place”). Nothing changes in Ek Baar Phir in the lives of villagers, only very few things: water and power are supplied, but only for a few hours at a time. Lapataganj residents maintain their morale and mock at the woes of day-to-day life, though if life does get challenging for them.
Team for Key Production
It is created by Ashwini Dheer under the banner of Garima Productions, and Dharam Verma directs the same. The central theme of the stories lies in the work of Sharad Joshi. Neha Sharad, the daughter of Joshi, was the creative head of the show in the earlier seasons of the show. Nisheeth Neerav Neelkanth is the show’s executive producer.

Reception and Legacy
As per popular demand, Ek Baar Phir was revived. While bringing in some jumps (time jumps) and new actors, the series was successful in retaining most of the old cast, and thus retained the nostalgic factor. Owing to its endearing humor and social satire, it touched hearts of viewers.
Returns Based on Public Demand
Lapataganj was initially telecast for 850 episodes before it was stopped in January 2013. Various viewers’ petitions demanding the characters, comedies, and narratives back resulted in the return of Lapatanganj – Ek Baar Phir.
Six-Year Leap
In contrast to where things had been, the new series begins six years later. Upon the jump, the Lapataganj residents now have the benefit of some of these mod cons, among them, the use of ATM’s, mobile phones, and occasional water and electric connectivity, but these facilities are usually erratic or inadequate, and present problems.
Mukundi’s Life Trans Mukundi (Rohitashv Gaur), the self-proclaimed hero, was updated a few times: he now has a cell phone, a new scooter, and a new level for his residence. None of these, though, have contented Mukundi, who remains “a bit frustrated” since everything is still not right. Mukundi’s discomfort is due to the unpredictability of things, for example, power and facilities.
The Contribution of Technology
In this new series, the series’ satire shifts somewhat to the role that technology—cable TV, cell phones, etc.—has had on relationships between villagers. The idea of technology bringing us closer is questioned by the new distances or problems it’s created.
Production and Programming Schedule
It again first went on air on June 10, 2013, Lapataganj – Ek Baar Phir.
It was telecast at 10:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, on SAB TV. Produced by Garima Productions under Ashwini Dhir’s direction. The major cast (actors and character traits) from the earlier program remained unchanged.
New Cast Member
Shilpa Shinde entered the show in January 2014 in the role of Mary Demello, Christian girl. She played the role of a modern and active person, but grounded in old-school values.
Party for the Cast and Crew
It was praised for achieving 100 episodes of Ek Baar Phir. Its producers Ashwini Dhir and entire team marked the achievement of SAB TV through trophies and parties. Feelings of an Actor When Lapataganj first went off air, Rohitashv Gaur stated he was heartbroken, but he was over the moon that it was back on air. Indumati, played by Sucheta Khanna, stated that the role was up there among the most successful of her life and was overjoyed to be reprising it again.
