Jayaram was born as the middle child of three children. His father’s name was Subramaniyam, and his mother’s was Thankam. His younger sister was Manjula, and he had an older brother named Venkitram, who was also younger than him. It was September 7, 1992.
They also had a son who was an actor too, Kalidas Jayaram, and Malavika Jayaram.
Education, Early Life, and Early Career
Jayaram studied at the Government Boys High School in Perumbavoor, after which he completed his graduation at Sree Sankara College in Kalady.
He was a medical representative after completing college before learning mimicry at Kalabhavan in Kochi. He got into the movies by doing stage performances and mimicking others.
Under the guidance of Padmarajan as the director of Aparan, he made his film debut in 1988. His early credits included Malayalam, later followed by Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and others.

Jayaram acted in over 200 movies in different South Indian languages throughout his extensive acting career.
He has won many awards, among them some Filmfare Awards as well as two Kerala State Film Awards (Special Jury for Thooval Kottaram, Second Best Actor for Swayamvara Panthal). Tamil Nadu State Awards, as well as many southern and nationwide honours.
Jayaram was awarded the Padma Shri by the government of India for his work in the sector of arts and the film industry in 2011.
