In an interview, Munawar himself admitted that he had been dating Nazila Sitaishi over a period of two years. They were regularly spotted out together and on social media, and he even said he had dated her before and after the reality show he appeared in, Lock Upp. It is said that the relationship has been over, and at a certain point, both were unfollowing one another on social media.

In his appearance on Lock Upp, Munawar was shown having on-screen chemistry with his co-contestant Anjali Arora. Their observable intimacy and emotional situations on the show also made them romantically connected in the eyes of fans, and Anjali even shared her feelings once.
