Even in the future, at least till 2026 and maybe beyond, what the Marathi TV industry will be known for is how it did, which very few others did, present the rural essence of Maharashtra in a beautiful, authentic way, and also tell very touching stories at the same time. In that regard, Tujhyat Jiv Rangala stands out as a huge hit. The show premiered on Zee Marathi, broke the records for viewership, and created a cultural craze that still fans into a frenzy even years after it went off the air.

The Heart of the Story

In the setting of the beautiful and rough terrain of Kolhapur, we are taken into the world of Tujhyat Jiv Rangala. We see the story of Rana Da and Anjali, which is most unusual. Rana is a down-to-earth, very kind and very strong wrestler (Pehalwan), who, although he may not be book smart, does have a large heart. Also on the other side, we have Anjali, a very well-educated and proper school teacher who has left the city to live in the village.

The issue is beautifully presented through the stories of these two, who come from very different backgrounds. What we see is not a simple love story; it is the 5-year journey of them trying to understand each other’s very different worlds. Also, the production went into the root of family dynamics in a rural setting, the political aspects that play out in a rural home, and the issues a sportsman faces, which in turn make it a full-scale family entertainment.
