Shanaya Makani is an incredibly talented Indian performer who handles everything herself—dancing, modeling, and using social media to showcase cool content about the performing arts. She stands out thanks to her fiery and dynamic dance moves, which get the youth hyped. Shanaya hit big time when she collaborated with Guru Randhawa on YouTube. Their video got millions of views and made her famous across Indian households.
Born in 1998 in Mumbai, Shanaya was raised in a city that cherishes creativity and hard work. This energizing atmosphere continues to inspire her today. At 27, this fired-up artist stays based in Mumbai, still crazy about dancing and putting out amazing content.

Shanaya attended the Utpal Shanghvi School to complete her education and later went on to attend FAD International, Mumbai, where she studied Fashion Management. By developing her love of performing arts and styling at an early age, she created her identity by merging both disciplines into one creative outlet known as dance.
In addition to her passion for dance, Shanaya was always attracted to the design of costumes and the visual presentation of them. She has experimented with many different creative styling concepts throughout the years to add a unique highlight to all of her dance videos.

Shanaya’s family has an extensive connection in the entertainment industry. Shanaya Iqbal Makani is the daughter of producer Iqbal E. Makani, an accomplished producer in the Bhojpuri film industry who has produced several films over the last few years and is well-known within the Bhojpuri film community. Growing up the daughter of a Bhojpuri film producer allowed her to be surrounded by many of the “Creatives” in the entertainment industry; thus, Shanaya was able to gain first-hand exposure to the entertainment industry, which has since fueled her desire to pursue her own creative path.
Shanaya has built her own identity outside of her family’s ties to the entertainment industry through her social media presence and the success of her dance career.

Shanaya kicked off her career on Instagram, uploading short dance videos and clips. Her natural expressions, elegance, and confidence in dancing helped her amass a massive following. Everything changed when she posted a dance video to “Sirra” by Guru Randhawa. The clip went viral and had a huge impact, creating new music and entertainment opportunities for her. So that post gave Shanaya’s online presence a giant boost.
In 2019, Shanaya took her biggest entrepreneurial leap and opened the Beat Dance Studio in Mumbai. The Beat Dance Studio is a place where dancers can come together to learn, practice, and grow as dancers through workshops and professional lessons.
With all of the exposure and growing popularity of her dancing, she has started to gain opportunities to appear in music videos. In 2025, she featured in “Sirra,” performed by Guru Randhawa and Kiran Bajwa.
