After the banishment of the king, the villagers considered the woman to be a symbol of purity, sacrifice, and justice. With time, her grave turned into a holy shrine, and she was worshipped as Masani Amman, a goddess saving her followers from disaster.

The woman was about to give birth and she and her husband were on their way through remote forests to find the famous midwife living in the village. The man went to fetch the midwife while the woman stayed alone in the forest. As per the story’s timeline, the incident occurred even before any help could reach the couple. Much later, worried villagers were able to connect the occurrences with a dream that the midwife had had. According to this dream, the pregnant woman saw herself transforming into the goddess Parvati and defeating the evil power. As for people now, they are sure that the goddess signifies femininity, motherhood, courage, and protection.
