Introduction
MTV Splitsvilla 11 is a very memorable season of India’s leading dating reality TV franchise. In 2018, the season, which brought together young contestants from diverse backgrounds, hit our screens. In it, the competitors put their skills to the test in order to win over each other, form bonds and outdo the other teams. We saw plenty of romance, friendship, jealousy, and at times even unhealthy competition play out, which kept the audience hooked.
The eleventh season brought in a mix of returning reality TV players and first timers. Sunny Leone and Rannvijay Singha were the guides throughout the season, which also brought their experience and stage presence to the competition.
MTV Splitsvilla 11: The Stars that Competed.
In this year’s field of female contestants, we had Roshni Wadhwani, Anushka Mitra, Mehak Ghai, Anshula Dhawan, Monal Jagtani, Aarushi Handa, Sheetal Tiwari, Aarushi Dutta, Maera Mishra, Shruti Sinha and Samyuktha Hegde.
Each contestant brought their own flavour to the villa. Roshni Wadhwani and Anushka Mitra drew in the audience with their part in the games and with each other. Mehak Ghai came in with a background in fashion and modelling, which she displayed throughout; at the same time, Anshula Dhawan and Monal Jagtani brought a competitive edge to the season. Aarushi Handa and Aarushi Dutta also became regulars, which reality TV viewers looked forward to.
Sheetal Tiwari did well in modelling and acting; at the same time, Maera Mishra was known for being into entertainment. Shruti Sinha came in with her dance background, and Samyuktha Hegde came with experience from the South Indian entertainment industry.
The male competitors included Puneet Kumar, Rohan Hingorani, Karan Manocha, Simba Nagpal, Gaurav Alugh, Chetan Titre, Shagun Pandey, Kabeer Bhartiya, Anshuman Malhotra and Gaurav Sharma.
Rohan Hingorani already had a presence in reality TV through MTV Roadies. Simba Nagpal later came to be known for work in Hindi TV; at the same time, Shagun Pandey and Anshuman Malhotra brought in acting experience. Karan Manocha and Gaurav Alugh also played a role in that season’s competitiveness.
Hosts and Presenters
Sunny Leone, who is a repeat of her presence in the franchise, and Rannvijay Singh bring to the table his background in MTV reality shows, which is very much known to the audience.
Their duties also included putting forth challenges to contestants, taking them through important decisions and reporting key developments within the villa.
Judges and Other Crew Members
The primary on-screen elements of the season were Sunny Leone and Rannvijay Singh. The competitors, who in turn became the main cast of the show, were the focus of interaction and performance, which in turn drove each episode. Behind-the-scenes support was provided by production professionals who handled filming, editing, direction and other TV production elements.
