Balwant Yadav, notorious as the Express Bandit, a criminal constable with a history of robbing express trains, learns of a potential windfall at Bhopal junction’s station master’s office. Arriving on the night of the 2nd, disguised as an RPF constable, he adds a layer of complexity to the unfolding events. Rati Pandey, the General Manager of Central Railways, stumbles upon Bhopal’s radio silence during a surprise inspection, uncovering the tragedy of the gas leak and contacting higher authorities.
In a pivotal moment at Bhopal Junction, Iftekaar makes a crucial decision to connect the Gorakhpur Express to the train used for evacuating survivors. The urgency prompts him to order the departure of Gorakhpur Express within three minutes, regardless of the circumstances. Amidst the chaos, Express Bandit prevents people from disembarking to avoid inhaling toxic air. Despite a stampede, Iftekaar, knocked unconscious, miraculously survives, continuing his service at the Bhopal Railway Station.
Believing Iftekaar to be dead, Express Bandit seizes the opportunity to take the keys to the station’s safe. Driven by a sense of justice, he returns the money upon overhearing authorities discussing alleged theft by Iftekaar. Leaving a single banknote as a symbolic gesture, Express Bandit later discovers Iftekaar is alive during a return visit to Bhopal.
Rati Pandey, initially hindered from reaching Bhopal, overcomes obstacles and leads a rescue team, garnering support from railway workers across different cities. Despite the minister’s demand to penalize those aiding Rati, Rajeshwari refuses to blindly follow orders. She takes responsibility for the miscommunication, resigning and preparing to face consequences with her husband’s return.
In the aftermath of the Bhopal gas tragedy, the real culprits, including UCC chairman Warren Anderson, escape consequences. Local journalist Jagmohan Kumawat attempts to expose negligence at the Union Carbide factory but faces obstacles in court. Union Carbide evades the repercussions it should have faced, leaving the innocent people of Bhopal without proper compensation.
As the narrative unfolds, Imad Riaz realizes he may not survive. Responsible for ensuring the safety of trains, he attempts to change tracks despite thick fog. Despite injuries, he reaches the switch motor in time, exposing himself to poisonous gas and succumbing to a heroic death.
