Khushi Kapoor made her Bollywood debut in the teen musical “The Archies,” directed by Zoya Akhtar, where she took on the role of Betty Cooper in the Indian adaptation of the beloved comics. During a recent interview with Aaj Tak, Janhvi Kapoor expressed her admiration for Khushi’s performance in the film and shared the guidance she offered her younger sister.
Janhvi commended Khushi for the honesty she brought to her portrayal and disclosed that she advised her to brace herself for criticism while maintaining her authenticity throughout the journey.
Based on her personal experiences, Janhvi stressed the significance of not allowing negativity to overshadow one’s true identity. She urged Khushi to concentrate on those who appreciate and value her, emphasizing that embracing positive feedback demands greater self-confidence than succumbing to negativity.
Janhvi elaborated that it’s often easier to accept criticism, and both she and Khushi frequently question themselves. Nevertheless, she praised Khushi for preserving warmth and innocence in her performance, describing her as authentically genuine in front of the camera without any pretense.
“The Archies” unfolds as a coming-of-age musical, exploring the lives of iconic characters such as Archie, Betty, Veronica, Reggie, Ethel, and Dillon. In the film, Khushi Kapoor portrayed the character of Betty alongside Agastya Nanda as Archie Andrews and Suhana Khan as Veronica Lodge. Released on Netflix on December 7, 2023, the movie is helmed by Zoya Akhtar, delving into themes of friendship, freedom, love, heartbreak, and rebellion.
