Revisiting Manali for Animal

Rashmika Mandanna, buoyed by the soaring success of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal, recently took a stroll down memory lane, reminiscing about her snowy escapades in Manali for the film, alongside her co-star Ranbir Kapoor. Decked in traditional attire, Rashmika draped a graceful saree while Ranbir exuded charm in a traditional kurta, portraying their characters’ wedding sequence against the picturesque backdrop of Manali’s snow-laden landscapes.

Facing the Chill Together

Reflecting on the chilly shoot, Rashmika shared candidly with We Are Yuvaa her initial apprehensions about braving the biting cold in a saree. However, her apprehensions were quickly dispelled when she discovered that she wasn’t alone in her plight. “Sir (Vanga) envisioned it as a scenario where these two youngsters eloped and tied the knot in the most unconventional setting. Internally, I was glad that I wasn’t the sole sufferer in a saree; Ranbir was also in the same boat,” she revealed, highlighting the camaraderie shared amidst the frosty conditions.

Makeup Woes in the Snow

Describing the challenges of shooting amidst snow, Rashmika elaborated on the Herculean task faced by the makeup team in combating the harsh elements. “When you’re out in the snow, your skin loses its color instantly. The makeup team has to work extra hard to bring back some life to your complexion. You get dolled up indoors, but once you step outside, it’s like, ‘What happened to your makeup?’ The cold simply numbs your face,” she explained, shedding light on the intricate process of maintaining a natural look amidst the unforgiving cold.

Hair Hassles in the Frost

Even hairstyling posed its own set of challenges in the frosty terrain. “And the hair, all styled and perfect, suddenly falls flat. So, half of the time, you’re trying to curl it again because you’re like, ‘Hey, my hair isn’t holding up.’ It’s chaotic, it’s messy. You’re just freezing and begging for your jacket,” Rashmika added with a laugh, narrating the humorous anecdotes of battling with unruly hair amidst the icy winds.

Animal’s Box Office Triumph

Despite facing polarized reviews, Animal emerged as a colossal box office success in 2023, amassing over Rs 900 crore worldwide. The stellar performances of the ensemble cast, including Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Tripti Dimri, coupled with the gripping narrative, contributed to its resounding triumph at the box office.
