Actress Vidya Balan recently lent her support to the film “Crew,” starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tabu, and Kriti Sanon, during the inaugural session of Expresso on Friday. In a refreshing departure from the typical macho action genre, she celebrated the film’s success at the box office, which defied conventional expectations.

Vidya emphasized the significance of “Crew” in challenging the prevailing notion that only action-packed blockbusters featuring male leads can thrive commercially. She praised the film’s three female leads for their charismatic performances and the enjoyable, light-hearted tone they brought to the screen. Particularly noteworthy to Vidya was the fact that these actresses, despite being at a certain age, were able to command success in the industry.
Discussing the evolving landscape of female-led cinema, Vidya expressed her optimism about the positive changes taking place. Despite initial concerns stemming from the conservatism observed during the pandemic, she highlighted the current momentum and support for women-centric films in the industry.
Looking ahead, Vidya Balan’s excitement extends to her upcoming project, “Do Aur Do Pyaar,” slated for release on April 19th. The film, featuring Pratik Gandhi, Ileana D’Cruz, and Sendhil Ramamurthy in pivotal roles, promises to offer audiences a fresh cinematic experience.
