Tamil star Sivakarthikeyan’s recent sci-fi drama “Ayalaan” featured him befriending an alien and was released just before Pongal, captivating family audiences despite some flaws. The movie performed reasonably well at the box office. Although a Telugu dubbed version was planned for theatrical release, it didn’t materialize for various reasons and has yet to debut digitally. Reports suggest that the Telugu version will soon be available online.

“Ayalaan” revolves around a lost alien who encounters four friends. Together, they protect the extraterrestrial from hostile scientists and assist in its return to its home planet. Rakul Preet Singh stars as the love interest of Sivakarthikeyan, with supporting roles played by Sharad Kelkar, Isha Koppikar, Bhanupriya, and Yogi Babu. The film was directed by R. Ravikumar, with music composed by Oscar-winner A.R. Rahman.

The original Tamil version of “Ayalaan” debuted digitally on Sun NXT on February 9, a month after its theatrical release. According to 123telugu.com, the Telugu version is expected to be available on Sun NXT around April 19, though an official confirmation is still pending.

Despite competing with Dhanush’s “Captain Miller,” “Ayalaan” drew a significant audience. The filmmakers are now focusing on a sequel, with Sivakarthikeyan confirming “Ayalaan 2” and promising fewer mistakes. In a fan interaction, he assured, “We know how much you liked the alien, so we will rectify our minor mistakes in the next part and deliver a better output.”
