Will There Be a Lost in Space Season 4 Release Date & Is It Coming Out?
“Lost in Space,” a science fiction series created by Irwin Allen, centers on the Robinson family, space colonists who find themselves lost in the void. This series is a modern reimagining of the 1965 CBS show of the same name, which itself was based on Johann David Wyss’ 1812 novel The Swiss Family Robinson and the 1962 Gold Key comic book Space Family Robinson by Del Connell and artist Dan Spiegle.
The series premiered with Season 1 on April 13, 2018, followed by Season 2 on December 24, 2019, and Season 3 on December 1, 2021. If you’re curious about the possibility of a fourth season, here’s what we know.
Is There a Lost in Space Season 4 Release Date?
There is no release date for Season 4 of “Lost in Space” as the series concluded with its third season.
In March 2020, Netflix announced that “Lost in Space” would return for a third and final season. Showrunner Zack Estrin commented, “From the beginning, we’ve always viewed this particular story of The Robinsons as a trilogy—a three-part epic family adventure with a clear beginning, middle, and end.”
Estrin continued, “It’s also worth noting that, given what these characters endure just to survive each episode, if anyone deserves to catch their breath before their next mission, it’s Will, Penny, Judy, Maureen, John, Don West, Dr. Smith… and The Robot. And, of course, Debbie the Chicken. So, while this chapter of ‘Lost in Space’ is coming to a rousing conclusion, I’m excited about exploring new stories with my friends at Netflix and the incredible possibilities that lie ahead.”
Estrin had signed a multi-year overall deal with Netflix and later received consulting producer credits on Netflix’s adaptation of One Piece. Sadly, Estrin passed away on September 23, 2022, reportedly due to cardiac arrest. He was 51 years old.

The official synopsis for “Lost in Space” reads: “After crash-landing on an alien planet, the Robinson family fights against all odds to survive and escape. But they’re surrounded by hidden dangers.”
