Kalki 2898 AD Conclusion, Post Credit Scene Explained: Kalki 2898 AD has everyone’s focus. The movie, helmed by Nag Ashwin, draws inspiration and aspects from Mahabharat and intertwines it with the realm of sci-fi. Featuring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan in the lead, filmmaker Ashwin assembled an impressive narrative and teased the second instalment with a cliffhanger conclusion and mid/post-credit scene. Let’s break it down what the ending might truly mean and how it opens the gateways for Kalki 2898 AD’s continuation.

Warning: Spoilers Ahead:
Kalki 2898 AD Ending: Kalki 2898 AD concluded on a high note. Audiences learn that Prabhas’ Bhairava is the reincarnation of Karna from Mahabharat, who battled alongside Amitabh Bachchan’s Ashwatthama in the conflict of Kurukshetra. While he wields the strength after coming in contact with his weapon from the Mahabharat era, Bhairava is brought back to the movie’s present timeline once he loses the magical weapon.
The film concludes with a helpless Ashwatthama chained to the battleground, indicating that history repeats itself in conflict, while Bhairava flies off with the expectant Sumathi aka Sum-80 (Deepika Padukone) in a rather Ravana steals Sita manner.
Kalki 2898 AD Credits Scene: Kalki 2898 AD featured a scene after the main cast was introduced in the closing credits. The scene sows the seeds for the film’s continuation. The brief clip features Kamal Haasan’s Supreme Yaskin, who is a self-proclaimed deity of the Complex located in Kashi, absorbing a drop of serum the Project K lab managed to extract from Sum-80 (Deepika Padukone lately named Sumati) managed to escape.

Counsellor Bani (Anil George) describes the events that transpired with Sum-80 while Yaskin inserts the drop. To his and Bani’s amazement, the drop held such powers that it not only helped Yaskin bounce back into life and develop a muscular body but also wield Arjuna’s bow, Gandiva.
The ending paved the way for two implications: 1. Yaskin has become much more potent and his thirst for Sum-80’s unborn child’s serum is higher than ever. If he gains access to the baby and the serum, Yaskin will emerge as the most dominant entity on the planet.
Yaskin holding the Gandiva bow, which was created by Lord Shiva and was a very powerful and divine weapon used by Arjuna during the Mahabharat war, not only gives a glimpse of his reborn strength but also creates the possibility that Yaskin could probably be a reincarnation of a strong celestial entity. Given that he dwells on top of Kashi, Yaskin already regards himself as equal with Lord Shiva. Perhaps it was a foreshadowing of his celestial connection.

Another theory we have is that he has performed yagnas to obtain the powers that bring him close to Lord Shiva. Much like Ravana, who performed yagnas that made him strong enough to wield various weapons, Yaskin might have also chosen a similar path with the added help of technology to achieve his super self-being.
Well, we will have to wait and see what Nag Ashwin envisions for Yaskin in the sequel of Kalki 2898 AD.
