As pledged, the third season of ‘Mirzapur’ has turned out to be explosive, blood-soaked, and as unpredictable, wild roller coaster ride as the prior two seasons. The latest season, which premiered on July 5, transported us back to the seedy lanes of Mirzapur, a town in Uttar Pradesh recognised for gang conflicts and unrestrained violence.

‘Mirzapur 3’ Gets A New Anti Hero
While a lot of fresh faces were introduced, the series concentrated on Guddu Pandit, one of the last remaining members of the Pandit family, and his descent into insanity.

In the third season, Guddu distances himself from his remaining family and companions and is depicted to hit rock bottom. At one juncture, he addresses his henchmen, declaring, “Gunda artharth jindagi se maut tak le jaane waala karmachari – toh gunda bano…”

Guddu’s moral decay becomes noticeable when he fails to become the compassionate dictator. In another scene, his ally Golu is seen advising him to employ “intelligence” and “might” to maintain his status quo.

Does Kaleen Bhaiyya Die?
Good news for Kaleen Bhaiyya devotees, no, he does not perish! He is escorted to a secure location by Sharad Shukla. In return, he pledges to proclaim him the ruler of Mirzapur. However, in a surprising twist, he shoots at Shukla after he had named him as the monarch.

After Sharad was shot dead, Kaleen Bhaiya stated that no one would be the ruler of Mirzapur and commenced slaughtering all the Baahubalis (goons) present.

The concluding scene is equally gruesome and poetic. It portrays the corpse of Shukla on the throne, indicating that his long-cherished aspiration came true, but only for a few seconds.

Why Did Kaleen Bhaiyya Kill Sharad?
Even though the two formed a warm bond after Sharad saved Kaleen’s life, and treated him as a member of the family despite being from warring factions, Kaleen is depicted to betray his friend. It is implied that he was compelled to do so by Chief Minister of UP Madhuri Yadav. Earlier, she had pledged him a reunion with his wife Beena and son, and retaliation against Guddu Pandit, if he could hinder Sharad’s ascent to power in Purvanchal.

Beena Tripathi Plots For Power
In the post-credit scenes following the ultimate episode, we observe Beena Tripathi’s servant encounter a Tripathi family loyalist at a labour camp. It is suggested that Beena is tired of being the spouse of the Tripathi household with no voice of her own and has vowed to ascend the ranks and seize the reins of the multi-crore business.
