BIOGRAPHY/ AGE/ HEIGHT/ FAMILY:
Being the second Indian to sign a deal with the UFC, mixed martial artist Anshul Jubli, also known as the “King of Lions,” made history.
Anshul and Bharat Khandare are the only two other Indians who have contracts with the UFC.
Anshul is currently 29 years old (as of 2024) and hails from the village of Bhatwari, Uttarakhand. He is 1.83 meters tall and weighs 70.5 kg (approx.).
His father Ravindra Singh Jubli is a retired BSF officer and his mother Jagdamba Jubli is a homemaker. He has 4 sisters namely- Aastha Jubli, Ayushi Jubli, Shalini Jubli, and Manisha Jubli Rana.
CAREER:
His friend’s older brother first introduced him to mixed martial arts and the UFC in 2015.
The second iteration of Matrix Fight Night (MFN), the largest professional mixed martial arts promotion in India, gave Anshul the opportunity to gain fame. The promotion was started by Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff, together with his sister Krishna Shroff and mother Ayesha Shroff.
In less than a year, Anshul made his professional debut by PRO MMA debut vs. Sanjeet Budhwar at Matrix Fight Night 2 on June 29, 2019 (win), took the amateur world by storm, and then won his next four matches at MFN to turn things around.
SIGNIFICANT MATCHES:
- Anshul Jubli defeated Harish Kumar in his amateur mixed martial arts debut on January 10, 2016, via unanimous decision.
- In his first professional mixed martial arts match, Jubli was declared the winner by a unanimous vote.
- In his second bout at Matrix Fight Night 3, Anshul Jubli prevailed against Amit Raj Kumar via unanimous decision.
- At Matrix Fight Night 4, Jubli won via technical knockout over Rajith Chandran.
- By a unanimous decision, Anshul Jubli defeated Srikant Sekhar on December 15, 2020, at MFN 5 Dubai.
- On September 24, 2021, in MFN 6 Dubai, Anshul Jubli defeated Mohammad Mahmoudian with an arm triangle choke.
