Aditi Rao Hydari recounted her challenging experience filming ‘Heeramandi‘ during a discussion at Presidency University Bengaluru. She pushed through physical and mental stress, telling students to keep pursuing their ambitions. Initially, she had difficulties on set, but she ended up performing excellently, thanks to director Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s faith in her talents.
‘Heeramandi’ star Aditi Rao Hydari recently shared her journey and experiences at Presidency University, Bengaluru.
At the ‘Achievers Dialogues 2024’ event held at the university, Aditi addressed the audience, offering valuable counsel. She stressed the significance of following one’s passion and persistently working to achieve goals, regardless of the challenges. The students found her story inspiring, feeling motivated to adhere to their own objectives.
In an open conversation , Aditi talked about a difficult moment while filming Heeramandi. She recollected a moment with Bhansali stating, “That incident happened during the filming of the first mujra. We started our shoot with ‘Hath Hojao,’ which was the first mujra I performed. I had just recovered from Covid at that time.” She continued to describe the physical and mental strain she encountered on the first day of shooting. “By the end of the first day, the outfit was heavy, and my mind was overwhelmed. I could see and understand what he was directing but couldn’t execute it properly. What he was saying made complete sense, but my body wasn’t cooperating.”
Aditi also disclosed that Bhansali’s unique method, which included withholding food to provoke an emotional response, initially left her disappointed in herself. She conveyed that she felt disheartened because she realized he didn’t achieve the outcome he desired. However, just before they wrapped up, they succeeded. She was determined because he believed in them so much, and she never wanted to let him down.
The period drama ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’, which has captivated viewers, features Aditi in the unforgettable role of Bibbojaan. Her stellar performance received positive responses from the audience.
