Alia Bhatt is just a month away from embarking on a mission to save her ‘Jigra’ Vedang Raina, and the anticipation is building. Earlier today (September 8th), the teaser trailer for Vasan Bala’s directorial Jigra was released, sparking a flood of reactions. Celebrities quickly took to Instagram, congratulating Alia and Vedang on what promises to be an emotional journey.
Director Vasan Bala was among the first to respond, calling Alia a “Superstar” in his Instagram story. He also shared a heartfelt message for producer Karan Johar, thanking him for pushing forward the idea. “Can’t thank you enough for sending that Kachcha Pukka email to Alia. I didn’t know if I was prepared… you knew I was,” he wrote.

Khushi Kapoor, rumored to be dating Vedang, reshared the teaser with the caption, “cannot wait.” Janhvi Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor expressed their excitement as well, with Varun Dhawan leaving a comment saying, “Superbbb” alongside fire and heart emojis. Ananya Panday chimed in with, “Oh my god (red heart emoji) goosebumps,” while Karan Johar added, “Here we go… Ulti ginti shuru (red heart emoji).”
The Jigra teaser also garnered reactions from notable figures like Nag Ashwin, Hansal Mehta, Huma Qureshi, Sharvari, Amar Kaushik, Radhikka Madan, Vivek Agnihotri, Masaba Gupta, Rhea Kapoor, and Rohit Saraf, all of whom shared their excitement for the film. Fans, too, voiced their admiration, with one commenting, “The Alia Bhatt cinema is so back! (fire emoji).”

Jointly produced by Alia’s Eternal Sunshine Productions and Dharma Productions, Jigra is co-produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra. The slice-of-life, emotionally charged drama is set to hit theaters on October 11, 2024. The film marks Vedang Raina’s big-screen debut, following his digital debut in The Archies.
