Thalapathy Vijay’s film Greatest Of All Time (GOAT) hit theaters on September 5 and has been performing remarkably well at the box office. True to the reputation of a Thalapathy Vijay release, GOAT has already shattered several records, surpassing the lifetime earnings of Thunivu, the most recent release of Vijay’s professional rival, Ajith Kumar. The excitement around the film was further fueled by the fact that it is expected to be Vijay’s last film before he steps away from acting to pursue a full-time political career.

There were earlier reports suggesting that key portions of the movie had been left out during editing as the original cut ran too long. Director Venkat Prabhu initially envisioned the film to be 3 hours and 40 minutes, but the theatrical version was reduced to 3 hours. However, fans who felt they missed out on some of the content can rejoice, as Prabhu has revealed that the director’s cut might be available when GOAT is released on OTT platforms. This version will restore the deleted scenes, extending the film back to its original runtime of 3 hours and 40 minutes.

The film will follow the typical 4-week window for OTT releases, common in Tamil cinema. Since its theatrical release was on September 5, GOAT is expected to be available for streaming by October 3, after its 28-day run in theaters. Reports suggest that Netflix has acquired the streaming rights for the movie at a significant price.
At the box office, GOAT has earned an impressive ₹178 crore from the Indian market and an additional ₹125 crore from international territories, pushing its worldwide gross to ₹303 crore. However, it still trails behind Leo, which has amassed a global collection of ₹606 crore.
