Anil Arora, the father of Malaika Arora, tragically passed away, with reports indicating it was due to suicide. The 62-year-old was found at his home on the sixth floor of Ayesha Manor. Mumbai Police are actively investigating the incident and considering various possibilities.
It has been reported that Anil Arora made a call to one of his daughters before his death. On Tuesday night, Malaika and her sister Amrita, along with other family members, gathered at their parents’ home. According to a police source, Anil had a conversation with his younger daughter, Amrita, the night before his passing. “The call records show that he spoke to Amrita, who was particularly close to him and one of his favorites,” the source told ETimes.
As per India TV, Anil reportedly told his daughters that he was feeling exhausted, allegedly saying, “I am tired,” just before taking his own life.
Anil Arora lived in the same building as his ex-wife, Joyce Polycarp. They maintained a routine where he would borrow her newspaper each morning. However, on this day, Joyce became concerned after noticing only his slippers and sensed something was wrong.
DCP Crime Branch Raj Tilak Roshan spoke to the media, stating, “The body of Anil Arora (62) was found. He lived on the sixth floor. We are conducting a thorough investigation with forensic teams on site. While it appears to be a case of suicide, we are exploring all angles. The body has been sent for postmortem, and further investigations are underway.”
Anil Arora and Joyce Polycarp separated when Malaika was 11 years old. After the divorce, Malaika and her sister Amrita were raised by their mother in Thane. In recent years, Anil had been living on the same floor as his daughters, though Malaika had her own apartment in Bandra.
Friends and family have come together to offer support during this tragic time. Among those visiting the family were Arjun Kapoor, Salim Khan, Salma Khan, Helen, Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Sohail Khan, Seema Sajdeh, Kim Sharma, and Ritesh Sidhwani.
