The Bank Job is a 2008 heist thriller film, directed by Roger Donaldson, written by Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais, and based on a true story of the Lloyds Bank burglary in Baker Street. The protagonist of this movie is Jason Statham.

This leads the producers to assert that a D-Notice served to put an end to the telling of the story in 1971, as this was meant to shield a high-ranking member of the British royal family. The producers claim that this is the first time the truth is told, although apparently, it contains significant elements of fiction.

The movie had its premiere in London on 18 February 2008 and was released in the United Kingdom on 29 February 2008 and in the United States on 7 March 2008. It received generally favourable reviews from critics, bringing in an overall $66 million in worldwide grosses.
