Sana Makbul Khan, better known by her stage name Sana Makbul, is an Indian model and actress who was born on June 13, 1993. She primarily works in Tamil and Telugu films as well as Hindi television. Most recognized for her roles as Dr Aliya Kothari (née Sanyal) in the Colors TV supernatural drama “Vish” and as Lavanya Kashyap in the StarPlus romance daily soap opera “Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?”

Makbul Khan began her acting journey by starring in the Telugu film Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya in 2014. In 2021, she was a part of the stunt-based show Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 11 and also went on to end as a semifinalist. This year 2024, she appeared on Bigg Boss OTT Season 3 and finished as a season winner.

She completed high school at the Mumbai Public School. She also completed graduation from R. D. National College in Mumbai, Maharashtra where she got a model and actor’s base. Her mother belongs to Kerala, and her father belongs to the city of Mumbai.
In 2022, she uploaded to her official Instagram account that she had faced surgery after a dog nibbled part of her face.

Makbul started as modelling, followed by advertisements and TV serials. One of her most popular performances on the small screen includes MTV Scooty Teen Diva in 2009.

As Sana Makbul on screen, she made her acting debut in the Telugu film Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya in 2014. She was given the role of Samhitha, the aerobics instructor entangled in a romantic triangle with both the father and the son.

She signed Rangoon, a Tamil crime thriller directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, which further boosted her acting skills in the South Indian film industry. In 2019, she worked under Vishal Vishishtha in the serial Vish on Colors TV.
She was seen on the colours TV stunt-based show Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 11 in 2021 which was shot in Cape Town, South Africa, where she made an entry as a semifinalist.

Makbul entered as a contestant in the third season of Bigg Boss OTT, the Indian version of the reality TV show Big Brother. She was Bigg Boss OTT 3’s winner after spending six weeks in the house.
