Insiders suggest that this project is close to Karan’s heart and will feature leading female stars from the Indian film industry. “Following his collaboration with Sanjay Leela Bhansali on HeeraMandi, Karan’s directorial venture is set to become Netflix’s next big highlight. He will take on the role of showrunner for this untitled series, with the script already completed. The plan is to begin filming in the first quarter of 2025,” according to a source familiar with the development.
Karan has been deeply invested in shaping the concept for this series and is enthusiastic about entering the digital landscape. “The project has now entered its casting phase, aiming to bring together a talented ensemble cast. As a Karan Johar creation, this web series is expected to be one of Netflix’s most significant and ambitious projects. Filming is slated to occur throughout 2025, with a streaming release anticipated in 2026,” the source further revealed.
Once this web series wraps up, Karan Johar will turn his attention to his next big-screen directorial, expected to be an epic action movie.
