Indian actress Trisha Krishnan was born on May 4, 1983, and she primarily appears in Telugu and Tamil movies. Known as the “Queen of South India,” Trisha has won multiple awards, including eight SIIMA Awards, one Tamil Nadu State Film Award, five Filmfare Awards South, and one Nandi Award.
Trisha Krishnan was born in Madras, Tamil Nadu, into the Tamil Palakkad Iyer family, and her parents are Krishnan and Uma Iyer. Before enrolling in the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree at the Ethiraj College for Women in Chennai, she completed her last schooling at the Sacred Heart Matriculation School in Church Park, Chennai.
She had also taken home the “Beautiful Smile” trophy from the Miss India 2001 competition.
Trisha had originally opposed the idea of studying acting because she wanted to finish her education and pursue her dream of becoming a criminal psychologist.

Trisha made her screen debut in the major role of Mounam Pesiyadhe (2002), following her small appearance in the 1999 love drama Jodi in Tamil. She became well-known for her roles in the financially successful Tamil films Varsham (2004), Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana (2005), Athadu (2005), and Aadavari Matalaku Ardhalu Verule (2007), as well as the Tamil films Saamy (2003), Ghilli (2004), and Aaru (2005).
Khatta Meeta (2010) was the first Trisha film in Hindi. She garnered critical acclaim for her performances in the historical plays Ponniyin Selvan: I (2022), and II (2023), the comic drama Abhiyum Naanum (2008), and the romantic drama ’96 (2018).
She won the Filmfare Awards South for Best Actress – Tamil and Filmfare Critics Best Actress – Tamil, respectively, for her roles in Kodi and ’96.
