In an era dominated by social media, Saif Ali Khan has consciously chosen to keep his distance. The actor, who is currently starring in “Devara: Part 1,” recently spoke about why he stays off platforms like Instagram and also shared some insights into the advice he receives from his wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan, who he refers to as the “queen of social media.”
Kareena Kapoor Khan has undeniably made her mark on Instagram. Known for her candid and unfiltered posts, she offers followers a glimpse into her personal life, including family moments with the Pataudi clan and her interactions with fellow industry stars. However, Saif has a different perspective. He mentioned that both he and their sons, Taimur and Jeh, aren’t too fond of Kareena’s habit of capturing every experience.
At a recent India Today Conclave, Saif expressed his thoughts, saying, “My wife is truly the queen of social media. I often see her following fascinating content about travel, cooking, and a variety of topics. But personally, for me, taking a picture of a moment often ruins that moment.” He explained that he enjoys being present and that capturing everything on camera detracts from the experience.
Kareena, who made her Instagram debut in 2020, has amassed 12.9 million followers, sharing snippets of family vacations, events, film promotions, and more. Saif humorously revealed that when Kareena asks to take a picture during family time, the kids and he usually prefer to say no, as they believe you either live the moment or capture it.
Despite many of his family members, including his sisters Saba and Soha, being active on social media, Saif continues to stay away. He admitted that he has tried using Instagram but often finds himself spending unnecessary time reading trivial content, which makes him feel like he’s wasting valuable time that could be spent on more meaningful activities, like reading a book. He emphasized that social media can be an endless distraction and even lead to negativity, which is why he avoids it. However, he did leave the door open to the possibility, noting that he might consider joining one day, as he doesn’t have a firm stance against it.
