Early Life

Born on 18 Aug 1972 to the city of Jalandhar, Punjab, Ranvir belongs to a family of films as his father was a film director. They had to shift to Mumbai as he did not get any work and there was not enough money to survive. He completed his education in Mumbai. There, too, he pursued his interest in acting and remained an active participant in school and college-level dramas. He discontinued his college education from Mithibai College but pursued diploma courses in film making from Xavier Institute of Communications, Mumbai, and Digital Film Academy, New York.

Ranvir started his career as a talk show host in 1993 and made his film debut in Ek Chotisi Love Story in 2002. He gained much popularity when there came the comedy of 2006 Khosla Ka Ghosla, and established himself as an acting personality.
