1. Andhadhun:
A suspense and thriller movie that leaves you on the edge of your seat. Sriram Raghavan’s masterly stroke in screenplay writing, ‘Andhadhun’ has twists and turns with every step. The manner with which it balances dark humour with suspense is really brilliant.
2. Queen:
Being a coming-of-age film with an innovative approach, the movie Queen broke many stereotypes. The screenplay, assisted by Vikas Bahl and Chaitally Parmar, helped audiences connect with the protagonist at a very deep level. The progression of character felt like something organic and real.
3. Gully Boy:
This film, a tribute to street rappers, has a gripping screenplay that brought the Indian underground rap scenario from the dark into the light. One can say Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti have written a script raw, emotional, and full of grip. The dialogues were sharp, and the pace kept the viewers hooked at all places.
4.Article 15:
Article 15 by Anubhav Sinha addressed the relevant social issue, but the hard-hitting screenplay made it significant. The script in Article 15 allowed the film not to become just a message delivery vehicle but one which can tell a strong storyline. Subtlety worked wonderfully in the script.
5.Drishyam 2:
A very well-crafted thriller, Drishyam 2 stands out because of its tight screenplay. The manner in which suspense was built without too much giveaway is remarkable. Continuation from the first part was just seamless and so were the twists in the plot, absolutely satisfying to the audience.
