In an interview to NDTV, Ramesh Bishnoi demanded an apology from Salman Khan for the blackbuck arrest, accused the actor’s family of disrespecting their religious beliefs and warned that the law will take its course if there is no apology on. Ramesh also highlighted the deep attachment of Bishnois with wildlife and nature, saying their ancestors had sacrificed their lives to protect the trees. He explained that Salman Khan’s actions had angered the community and a court verdict would follow.

He also expressed disappointment over allegations leveled by Salman’s father Salim Khan who alleged that money motivated the gang. Ramesh also pointed out that while Salman Khan was convicted in the Blackbuck case and sentenced to five years in prison, no charges were filed against Lawrence Bishnoi. He added that Lawrence is not involved in the Baba Siddique murder or extortion cases, noting that his family owns significant land and does not engage in criminal activity. According to Ramesh, others are exploiting Lawrence’s name for their gain.

The blackbuck case, which dates back to the filming of Hum Saath Saath Hain in Jodhpur in 1998, saw Salman Khan convicted by the Rajasthan High Court in 2018. He was sentenced to five years in prison but was later granted bail after appealing the verdict to the Supreme Court.
