Anarkali Nazar, a new talent on the South Indian film scene after having made her contributions to both acting and modelling, is primarily active in Malayalam films. Born in 1999 in Kollam, Kerala, she pursued a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree from the Mar Baselios Institute of Technology and Science, Kothamangalam, Ernakulam, Kerala. In college, Anarkali has been involved in flash mobs and modelling competitions, quite evident in her early passion for the performing arts.
After completing her graduation, Anarkali worked briefly as an air hostess with Indigo Airlines, Nedumbassery. Her love for modelling and acting made her quit this after about six months and take to the entertainment industry full-time.
Anarkali comes from an orthodox Muslim family. At first, she was not open about her modelling and acting aspirations, divulging only to her sister, Anjali Nazar. It was only after she was cast in the film “Mohan Kumar Fans” (2021) that she disclosed her plans to her parents, who then provided their support.
In “Mohan Kumar Fans,” Anarkali debuted in the character Sreeranjini Mohan Kumar, her first appearance in the Malayalam film industry. On her experience, she commented on being thankful for the opportunity to work with an established actor like Kunchacko Boban, who she said was very supportive of newcomers.
Anarkali starred in various Malayalam films after her debut. In 2021, she did appear in “Kunjeldho,” while a year later, she played a supporting role in “Aaraattu.” Further, she gained more versatility with the portrayal of Fida in “Ntikkakkakkoru Premondarnn” (2023) and Janani, the sister of Arivazhagan, in “Romeo” (2024).
Anarkali has so far appeared on the screens of many commercials for brands like Sunny Silks, Jolly Silks, and Bismi. These advertisements have also enriched the profile of Anarkali on the modelling front.
Anarkali is around 5’6″(around 167cm) in height and weighs approximately 55 kg (roughly 121 lbs). Her measurements are approximately 32-28-32, further beautified with eyes and hair of pitch black colour.
However, from being a college girl who participated in flash mobs, her journey to becoming a known face in the Malayalam film industry is appreciable due to her efforts and passion for the arts. How she was able to maintain the traditional values of the family by going after her dreams, amply speaks of her willpower and perseverance. With her current trend of performing different roles in films and modelling, Anarkali Nazar is soon going to be seen on the fast track of the South Indian entertainment industry.
