She is a talented Indian actress, model, and director who has spent over twenty years in the entertainment business. Born on December 2, 1971, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, she comes from a very culturally rich background; her mother is Maharashtrian, while her father is Gujarati. She is the granddaughter of the legendary Hindustani classical singer Anjanibai Lolekar, which inspired her early inclination toward the performing arts.
She studied at Princess High School and later at Jai Hind College in Mumbai. Her modelling career began at the age of 16. She was crowned Miss University World in 1993 and opened up a path to Bollywood, where she chose to act.
Her acting debut was in the Telugu movie ‘Intlo Illalu Vantintlo Priyuralu’ (1996) in which she did a dance number. She became popular with Bollywood films like ‘Yes Boss’ (1997), ‘Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha’ (1998), and ‘Jungle’ (2000). Kashmera became famous for her dance performances, appearing in films like ‘Vaastav: TheReality’ (1999) and ‘Murder’ (2004).​
Apart from the films, Kashmera has also made her mark in the television world. She has participated in various reality shows, including “Bigg Boss 1” (2006), “Nach Baliye 3” (2007), and “Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 4” (2011).
Kashmera’s relationships have been much talked about in the media. She was married to Hollywood producer Brad Listermann in 2002, but the marriage ended with a divorce in 2007. During this time, she met comedian Krushna Abhishek while filming for “Aur Pappu Pass Ho Gaya” (2006), and professional camaraderie soon gave way to romance. After several years of dating, the two secretly married in Las Vegas in 2012, the fact of which they revealed later in 2014.
Kashmera has had a tough time when it comes to starting a family, including several unsuccessful rounds of IVF. Following actor Salman Khan’s recommendation, the couple turned to surrogacy, and in 2017 welcomed twin sons Rayaan and Krishaang.
Kashmera is versatile in all frontiers including direction and production. Her directorial feature debut was “Marne Bhi Do Yaaron” in 2019, which also saw her in a lead role. The fact that she can engage in so many diverse activities in the industry speaks well of her gifts.
Her recent projects include appearances in the reality show “Laughter Chefs” (2024), where she and her husband Krushna Abhishek performed together to give the audience a glimpse of their off-screen chemistry.
