Sharvari Wagh is fresh into the Indian film industry with a budding career that dates June 14, 1997, in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Born into a Marathi family from her father’s side, builder Shailesh Wagh, with her architect mother named Namrata Wagh, her maternal grandfather is Manohar Joshi, an erstwhile Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
Her Education and Initial Interests
Sharvari needs no introduction, as she completed her school at The Dadar Parsee Youths Assembly High School in Mumbai. After that, she attended Ruparel College, Mumbai, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree. Although she is still a child, it can easily be said that Sharvari has shown incredible interest in performing arts since she took part in modelling assignments and even in drama workshops, and participated in the Clean & Clear Fresh Face contest which she won back in 2013; that was when her journey with the entertainment industry began.

Before stepping into acting, Sharvari gained experience behind the camera. In 2015, she worked as an assistant director for notable Bollywood films such as “Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2” and “Bajirao Mastani.” She continued this role in 2018 with “Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. This phase allowed her to understand the intricacies of filmmaking and honed her skills for her future acting career.
Acting Debut and Breakthrough
In her acting career debut in 2020, she was seen in the Amazon Prime Video web series “The Forgotten Army – Azaadi Ke Liye,” directed by Kabir Khan. Her role as Maya Shrinivasan has been noted well with appreciation, becoming her debut showcase as a promising actress. In 2021, she made her film debut with Yash Raj Films’ project “Bunty Aur Babli 2,” playing the role of Sonia/Babli in a dual character. The performance brought her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut and the IIFA Award for Star Debut of the Year – Female.
Recent Projects and Future Endeavors
Recently Sharvari starred in Munjya, a horror-comedy of 2024 where she plays Bela. It became super successful and was a very important milestone for her She’s also seen in a special appearance in the period drama, Maharaj, and stars in Vedaa, the action-drama alongside John Abraham. The future includes the film Alpha, which she is believed to be a part of in her pey-thriller called Yash Raj Films.
