When you reach a certain age, everyone starts expecting certain things from you. Society starts expecting you to behave in a certain way. It’s like they forget that you too are a human with your own wishes and fancies. Your age, which opened doors as you transitioned from a child to an adult, becomes your biggest barrier when you go beyond adulthood and enter old age. Even though your body feels fine and your mind is ready to climb the next Everest, society tells you to take a break. Defying these silly expectations, Neeru Saini trailblazes her way through it all. And we know it, as she shared the same in our interview.

Neeru Saini: Early Life
Born in Batala, Punjab, Neeru Saini was a bright young girl. At an early age, she showed tremendous interest in sports and even became a national-level sportsperson as a child. But at the young age of 20, she was married off. As married life entered the mix, her passion for sports, dance, and fitness took a back seat. She completely devoted herself to raising her family.
The Storm That Changed Everything
For many years, life was stable and calm with the usual chaos from children. But soon a storm uprooted Neeru Saini’s life—at age 28, her husband was diagnosed with blood cancer. Within four years, all their savings were gone, and sadly, he lost the battle. A housewife in her early thirties, with no money and two daughters to care for, life seemed like an endless dark tunnel. Many would have given up, but Neeru didn’t. She believed this wasn’t the end.
Neeru Saini: Building A Life Again
After her husband’s passing, Neeru picked herself up. She started providing tuition to school kids while studying herself. She later became a full-time teacher in private and then government schools. Through it all, she made sure her daughters never lacked anything and encouraged them to be independent, even if it meant being far from her. She still credits that phase for making her the strong woman she is today.
Finding Herself Again
Even after rebuilding her life, loneliness crept in. She loved those around her so deeply that when they moved on, she felt lost. Considering remarriage briefly, it was her uncle’s advice to focus on herself that shifted things. He suggested meditation. In a camp, she discovered how much she could do alone. Slowly, she reconnected with her first love sports, followed by dance. Bit by bit, Neeru Saini found herself again.
Neeru Saini: Social Media Journey
She asked an ex-student, now a yoga and dance instructor, to train her. One day, he posted a video of her dancing online—with her permission—and she realized it brought her joy. That’s how her social media journey began.
She created WhatsApp groups for women to run, bike, and dance—posting her videos to inspire them. Her Instagram and YouTube followed, with the same mission: to show women in India that it’s never too late to follow your passion.
Facing Trolls with Grace
Neeru Saini focuses on clean eating and regular workouts. As her videos went viral, criticism came too. Many said she should “act her age.” At first, it hurt. But during meditation, she asked herself: “If I were doing something wrong, would it bring me joy?” The answer was no—so she continued.
As a teacher, instead of snapping at haters, she explained her journey. Many understood and even apologized. She believes in “kill ‘em with kindness”, turning haters into admirers through her calm strength.
A Message for Young Dreamers
Being on social media for years, Neeru knows it’s not easy. She advises the youth to think carefully about what they’re willing to share. Backlash can come even when you’re right. If wrong, apologize. If right, stand your ground. Above all, she says, enjoy the journey and be yourself.
